|About me, Anika!|
|So,there are three things I have always done for as long|
as I can possibly remember: draw, daydream, and tell stories.
There are probably several other things I have always done, but because moderate procrastination, talking to wildlife, and faking accents are not necessarily pertinent to a creative legacy, I'll focus on the former.
I come from a family and a history of storytellers, artists and daydreamers. This means that I have perpetually throughout my life been called out or scolded for drawing while daydreaming, which often thereby necessitated elaborate storytelling to escape further punishment.
Fortunately, being a grownup means I can continue to do the things I love without getting into trouble (and with science to back me up! HA!)
A good story fills me up with immeasurable joy and I have absolute affinity for imagination and art in any time or form. All those things together in one something?
Ooh, that’s the good stuff.
That’s also the funnest part of creating! If, in my work, you can see a story - or rather feel a story - perhaps the same giggly-ness I feel when I imagine the personality of a character coming to life on paper - then I have succeeded and am happy to know I’m not having fun for no good reason!
But please don’t tell anyone. I don’t want to get in trouble.
